GIRLS GET BUSY// WEB WOMANCE: The Ardorous

THIS WEEK OUR GIRLPOWER GURU FROM GIRLS GET BUSY, BETH SIVEYER, HAS DISCOVERED A CREATIVE WEB DEN OF FEM FOR US TO EXPLORE. CLICK THROUGH THE SLIDESHOW BELOW FOR A LITTLE TASTER OF WHAT THESE GIRLS HAVE TO OFFER…

The Ardorous is a club made up of creative females created by photographer/painter Petra Collins. Featured artists include Girls Get Busy contributors Grace Miceli, Arvida Bystrom and Aëla Labbé, as well as other talented ladies. After looking through varied work clearly inspired by the dreamy aesthetics of Virgin Suicides and Hole’s Live Through This with a hint of feminism, The Ardorous will leave you feeling creatively tingled and desperate to join the collective. I asked Petra about the website and why she started it, and she said:

‘The Ardorous is a series of individual and collaborative projects between a collective of female creative professionals – all full of ardor but each with a unique artistic style and voice.  I started the site about a year ago. I wanted to create a platform for talented female artists. At the beginning of my career, I was always looking for places to showcase my work but could never find any. Then a year ago I decided to start my own collective that supported young female artists like myself. With the Ardorous, I try to create a safe space for female artists to work in and with, they are free to express themselves however they want with no restrictions.’

You can send samples of your work to hello@petracollins.com to join this cyber girl gang. http://www.theardorous.com
