Eagulls released an eponymous EP last week on SEXBEAT, featuring the five tracks Coffin, Moulting, No If’s, No Buts, Cripple (Hypokalemic Periodic Paralysis) and Still Born; and today they’ve dropped the video to accompany Moulting, which premiered on Noisey this morning.
Recorded with Matthew Johnson (who has produced the likes of Hookworms and Spectrals) the EP showcases the band’s DIY sensibilities but also throws in some more measured melodic elements than previous releases; the sound of a band making the transition from live energetic entertainers to becoming more skilled in the studio. The video eschews glossy visuals, it’s a lo-fi kaleidoscopic mash up of their now legendary chaotic live performances.
